Dockside - Happy Valley-Goose Bay

The race is open to all residents of Labrador. The distance is approximately 35 kms. The registration fee is $20.00 and the prizes are as follows:

1st Prize $1000    2nd Prize $750    3rd Prize  $500

Upon Participation in the Big Land Challenge Dog Team Race

$100.00 will be paid to all registered racers

who traveled 100 km or more from their home community

to Happy Valley-Goose Bay.

The overall goal of the Big Land Challenge Dog Team Race is to preserve and celebrate a very unique and an important part of Labrador history and culture. As a committee we feel it very important that dog sledding and the Labrador Husky and the continued use of the dog team has a place in the future of Labrador.

A banquet is planned for all racers and committee members as a clue up after the event.
