Business & Economy
As the largest community in Labrador, Happy Valley-Goose Bay has undergone significant changes in recent years with continued growth in municipal infrastructure, commercial, residential and industrial developments. Its size and location make it an important servicing center for Central and Coastal Labrador. Furthermore, it is a gateway to Europe, Canada's North and the rest of North America. The availability of air, sea and road transportation networks, a competitive utility rate, and the entrepreneurial atmosphere throughout our community, provide local businesses and those that are looking to establishing themselves here with a powerful advantage.
With continuous growth, a flourishing tourism industry, and numerous major projects on the horizon – from the proposed Lower Churchill hydroelectric development to advancing mining and forestry sectors – Happy Valley-Goose Bay has a bright and prosperous future.

Integrated Community Sustainability Plan
In order to obtain Gas Tax Funding, the Integrated Community Sustainability Plan was completed and approved by the Town Council of Happy Valley-Goose Bay in March 2010. A public meeting was held on June 17 to review the plan.
