Allied - Local Relations

The Town of Happy Valley - Goose Bay has made great efforts to ensure positive relations between the community and our participants. In 2000 the Goose Bay Airport Marketing Committee created Allied Appreciation Week to express its appreciation to those air forces conducting training at our Base. During the week of celebrations participants receive discounts at local businesses and take part in (amoung other things) an allied/local soccer (football) game. We have an ongoing commitment to foster positive relationships between the community and our participants.

Current and former personnel from participant nations who have spent time in Goose Bay agree that the quality of training and life here is like none other. With miles of rugged country in every direction, Goose Bay truly is a nature enthusiasts paradise. Participants training in Goose Bay have embraced our natural landscape and unique way of life, and frequently organize camping outings for their staff. Additionally, a number of participants have devoted considerable resources to develop cottages and other infrastructure to facilitate social outings.

While training may be your priority, the possibilities for comfort, fun, and relaxation are endless. It’s all right here in Goose Bay, Labrador.
